Police raid rave party at Anekal resort, arrest 37 people

Anekal police raided an alleged rave party on Saturday night at a complex on the outskirts of town and arrested 37 people, including students, IT professionals and businessmen. After receiving information from a few villagers, who heard blaring music and saw cars in the complex, a police team was dispatched to investigate.

“The team seized a huge quantity of bottles of alcohol as well as what appear to be chemicals mixed with water,” said a police officer. DJ equipment and 17 bicycles were also seized. Many revelers have reportedly tried to flee and hide in the fields around the complex.

Police arrested 37 people who were apparently too drunk to escape the raid.

Those arrested were registered under various sections of the Excise Law, the Karnataka MD Law, as well as the Karnataka Police Law, a police officer said.

“We are awaiting medical reports to determine if they were under the influence of drugs,” added the senior police official.

An initial investigation revealed that the organizer of the party, identified as Abhilash, shared event details and entrance fees with guests online. He shared the entry code and location on WhatsApp.

In another case, Byadarahalli Police took over a reckless and negligent driving case against a private car owner after picking up the abandoned vehicle in the middle of the NICE road on Saturday evening. Eyewitnesses told police that four people, two boys and two girls, abandoned the car after being in an accident. “We suspect this incident is related to the Anekal rave party and are trying to locate the owner of the car,” police said.
